La fiabilité, la sécurité et la longévité sont trois caractéristiques essentielles que les produits REO doivent remplir. Afin de le prouver également à nos clients sous forme de certifications et de normes, REO propose des produits certifiés UL.
L’attribution de certificats par l’organisme américain UL (Underwriters Laboratories) correspond plus ou moins au marquage CE européen. Cependant, les fabricants déclarent généralement eux-mêmes la conformité aux dispositions CE, tandis que l’attribution de la marque de contrôle UL est précédée d’une certification indépendante par UL.
UL développe à cet effet des normes et des procédures afin de contrôler la sécurité des produits, des matériaux et des composants en termes de respect des normes. Une norme typique pour les articles électriques comprend des exigences relatives à la sécurité électrique, à l’inflammabilité et contrôle les sources potentielles de dangers mécaniques. Si toutes les normes de sécurité sont respectées, les produits peuvent porter une marque de contrôle UL.
Il s’agit soit d’une marque de contrôle UL Listing, soit d’une marque de contrôle UL Recognized Component. La marque de contrôle UL Listing est la preuve qu’UL a contrôlé des échantillons représentatifs du produit correspondant et a confirmé sa conformité aux exigences de sécurité applicables. La marque de contrôle UL Recognized Component indique qu’un composant reconnu par UL peut être utilisé dans un produit ou un système portant la marque de contrôle UL Listing.

Afin de garantir une norme à long terme, UL contrôle les produits et les sites de production de manière inopinée. Les produits REO contrôlés par UL ont donc non seulement prouvé leur aptitude à l’emploi et un fonctionnement à faible risque dans le cadre de normes de contrôle strictes, mais ils sont également synonymes de produits transparents et de haute qualité dans les usines REO.
